Re-Elect
Wilfrid St. Surin
Treasurer, Organization of Staff Analysts
I have worked for the New York City Transit Authority for thirty years. From the start, I believed that Analysts at the Transit Authority would be better off with union representation.
But Analysts were not represented at the Transit Authority and no union seemed interested in helping us. Then, over twenty years ago, the Organization of Staff Analysts showed up and asked if we wanted to join them. I argued in favor of joining the new group and my fellow analysts agreed with me. In the late 1990s, we joined OSA.
For all the years since we voted to join OSA, we have had negotiated contracts, grievance rights and the respect of our co-workers because we, too, had helped form a union.
I was proud to be a representative on my location for OSA as a delegate and honored to be elected to the OSA Executive Board.
OSA is strong at Transit and I hope to continue to serve all of our members Citywide as the Treasurer of OSA. We have grown in strength each year since I first became a member. Let's keep up the good work.
